Challenge
The project demanded estimation of demand for dredging in Malaysia, understanding of local regulatory framework, planning of equipment required and exploring possibilities of Joint venture or collaborations. Most of the analysis had to be based on primary data collected from various associated organization in Malaysia.
Methodology
Malaysia is divided in three parts, viz; East Peninsular, West Peninsualar and states of Labuan and Saba. Primary data for past and future dredging activities at ports in these regions was collected including ports of Port Klang, Tangung Pelepas, Penang, Johor, Kuantan, etc. to establish dredging demand. SWOT analysis of the client in terms of Malaysian market was done to chalk entry strategy for the client and subsequent short term and long term strategy.

i-maritime on the macro level proposed client to have a long term regional strategy to secure business outside India and was customized in highly price competitive short term strategy. In addition to port dredging projects, i-maritime suggested client to venture into dredging for real estate development through reclamation of land and beach resulting from booming tourism industry in Malaysia.
